Overview
The SEO Growth retainer is our monthly engagement for clients who want compounding organic visibility. We run audits, fix technical SEO issues, build out cornerstone content, manage Google Business profiles for local clients, and report on what's working.
What we deliver each month
Each calendar month, we deliver:
- Keyword strategy review β gap analysis, new opportunity discovery, cannibalization checks;
- Technical SEO maintenance β crawl audits, schema, Core Web Vitals, internal linking, canonicals, hreflang where relevant;
- On-page SEO β title and meta optimization for priority pages, header structure, anchor-text strategy, image alt text;
- Content production β typically 4β8 new long-form pages per month, depending on niche and word-count targets. Specifics agreed in the monthly content calendar.
- Local SEO (where applicable) β Google Business profile management, posts cadence, review acquisition workflow, citation cleanup;
- Monthly report β see Β§5 for what's in it.
We adjust the mix month to month based on what's moving the needle. The total volume of work stays consistent.
What we don't promise
We do not guarantee any of the following, and our fee does not depend on any of them:
- Specific keyword rankings or positions;
- Specific traffic, lead, or revenue figures;
- Recovery from Google penalties or algorithm updates;
- That competitors won't outrank you;
- Indexation timelines (we don't control Google's crawl);
- Inclusion in any specific feature (snippets, knowledge panels, AI Overviews).
We do commit to the work itself β the deliverables in Β§2 β done with care, measured, and reported. That's what you're paying for.
Minimum term & billing
SEO Growth has a 3-month minimum term. After the minimum term, the retainer continues month-to-month and can be cancelled with no notice (Β§10).
Billing runs on the anniversary of your sign-up date each month via Stripe. Pricing is shown in your local currency on our pricing page.
The minimum-term commitment is enforceable: if you cancel inside the minimum, you remain liable for the remaining months of the minimum term and we will continue to deliver them.
Reporting cadence
You receive a monthly report covering:
- Work delivered (pages shipped, fixes made, content published);
- Movement in priority keywords (visibility index, top-10 count);
- Organic traffic delta (sessions, top landing pages, top queries);
- Conversion delta where tracked (leads, calls, bookings);
- Local pack performance (for local-SEO clients);
- The plan for the next month.
The report drops on the first business day of each month covering the prior month. We also do a deeper quarterly review at the 90-day mark.
Content ownership
All content we produce β articles, location pages, comparison guides, schema implementations β becomes your property on publication. If you cancel the retainer, the content stays on your site. You can keep it, edit it, expand it, or remove it.
We retain the right to point to the work in our portfolio (without revealing client commercial detail you'd reasonably consider sensitive).
Third-party tools & platforms
We use industry-standard tools β Ahrefs, Semrush, Search Console, Google Business Profile, GA4 β to do the work. Tool access stays with us (unless you bring your own accounts), and reporting reflects the tools we use. We aren't responsible for tool outages, pricing changes, or data discrepancies between providers.
Google, Bing, and other search engines remain in control of how content is indexed, ranked, and displayed. We optimize the inputs they consider; the outputs are theirs.
Your responsibilities
- Provide Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, and GA4 access (read-only is fine).
- Review and approve published content within 3 business days.
- Don't deploy content changes to priority pages without flagging them to us.
- Don't run a parallel SEO engagement on the same domain without telling us.
- Tell us about any technical changes to the site (CMS migrations, redirects, deindexed sections).
If you publish content under your own brand that we wrote, please don't reproduce it elsewhere on the open web (duplicate content rules will eat your rankings).
Pause and hold
You can pause the retainer for up to 30 days once per 12 months at no cost (illness, business interruption, family emergency β life happens). Pauses must be requested in writing; the next billing cycle is moved out by the pause duration.
Pausing more than once per 12 months, or beyond 30 days, may end the retainer; you can re-onboard with a fresh minimum term.
Cancellation
After the 3-month minimum, you may cancel at any time. Email hello@garagegrowthlab.com or cancel from your dashboard. We require no notice period beyond the current billing cycle.
What happens at cancellation:
- The current month's work continues to completion;
- The next billing cycle does not run;
- Content already produced stays on your site;
- We send a final report at the end of the month;
- Access to tools we managed on your behalf returns to you within 7 days.
Refunds
Standard refund position β see the Refund Policy:
- Within the first 7 days of your first month: full first-month refund if it's clear we're a bad fit (very rare).
- Duplicate billing: full refund of duplicate.
- Material breach by us, uncured within 14 days of written notice: pro-rata refund of undelivered work.
Other refunds are not available; the alternative-work guarantee covers mid-retainer issues.
